Monte Rei is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course that opened in 2007 in the hills behind Vila Nova de Cacela, in the eastern Algarve. It is widely regarded as Portugal’s best course and was ranked the country’s number one by Golf World. Each hole follows the natural landscape, with carefully sculpted bunkers.
From the back tees it is par 72 and 6,567 metres, with forward tees down to 4,845 metres. Our Monte Rei packages include a shared buggy with GPS and an hour’s use of the practice facilities with unlimited range balls, and use accommodation on the estate itself, so the course is on your doorstep. The club has a golf academy, a full practice area and restaurants and bars on the estate.

How far is it from Faro Airport?
About 40 minutes by car. Airport transfers are not included in our packages but can be arranged on request.
Is Monte Rei suitable for high handicappers?
Yes, from the right tees. There are several tee options, although the bunkering makes it a demanding course.
