OKOL Golf Club is part of the OKOL Lake Park development at Gorni Okol, about 30 km south-east of Sofia, on the slopes above Iskar Lake, Bulgaria’s largest reservoir. The course was designed by Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design and opened in 2024.
The 18-hole course is par 72 and about 7,000 yards long. At around 1,000 metres it plays through open mountain meadows that keep their natural granite outcrops, with views over the lake towards the Rila mountains. The academy, run with IMG, has a driving range, putting green and indoor practice, and buggies are available. As a mountain course its season is shorter than on the coast; ask us about your dates.

Where can I stay?
We can include OKOL in a stay at Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort or at a hotel in Sofia. Ask us for the options for your dates.
When can I play?
At about 1,000 metres the season is shorter than on the coast, roughly from late spring to autumn. Tell us your dates and we will check.
Is the course new?
Yes. It opened in 2024 as part of the OKOL Lake Park development, designed by Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design.
