Millennium opened in 2000, designed by Martin Hawtree. It combines refurbished holes from the original Vilamoura layout with newly built ones, which gives it two moods. The early holes run through pine trees on narrower fairways that call for accuracy. Later the landscape opens out and lakes come into play, including on the 17th and 18th.
The course is par 72 and 6,157 metres from the back tees. It is a fair test for most handicaps and a good partner for Laguna, with which it shares a clubhouse, restaurant, bar and pro shop. The practice area has a driving range with bunker, chipping area and putting green. Millennium is included in most of our Vilamoura packages, and several of our hotels there include a shuttle to the courses.

How difficult is Millennium?
It suits most handicaps. The tree-lined holes reward a straight drive, and the lakes on the last two holes need care.
How far is it from Faro Airport?
About 25 minutes by car. Airport transfers are not included in our packages but can be arranged on request.
Which of the Vilamoura courses should I play?
Laguna and Millennium are the easiest to combine and are included in most packages. The Old Course and Pinhal are more tree-lined and often available for a supplement.
