Royal Óbidos opened in 2012 and is one of the final designs by Seve Ballesteros. The course sits on high ground at Vau, between the Óbidos lagoon and the Atlantic, so many holes have views of the water. Water features throughout, and the back nine brings in a chain of lakes linked by small cascading streams.
At 6,692 metres from the back tees and par 72, it is a full championship test, and it has hosted the Open de Portugal several times since 2020. The signature 5th is a 520-metre par 5 played into a green surrounded by water. Practice facilities include a 35-bay driving range, putting, chipping and pitching greens. The Evolutee Hotel is on the estate, and Praia D’El Rey, West Cliffs and Bom Sucesso are all within a few minutes’ drive.

Where can I stay?
The Evolutee Hotel is on the Royal Óbidos estate. We also include Royal Óbidos in packages from Praia D'El Rey Marriott and West Cliffs Ocean & Golf Resort, both with a free shuttle to the course.
Has the course hosted professional golf?
Yes. Royal Óbidos has hosted the Open de Portugal several times since 2020.
How far is it from Lisbon Airport?
About 1 hour by car. Airport transfers are not included in our packages but can be arranged on request.
