Crowne Plaza West Cairo Arkan is in Sheikh Zayed City, part of the Arkan Plaza development on the 26th of July Corridor. For golfers it is a good base in West Cairo: The Allegria at SODIC Westown is a short drive away, and New Giza is about 15 minutes along the road. You step out of the lobby into the plaza’s cafés, restaurants and shops, which is useful on evenings when you would rather not take a taxi.

There are 178 rooms and suites. The Standard Room measures 35 m² with king or twin beds, and there are Junior Suites of 56 m² and One Bedroom Suites of 75 m² if you want more space. The food is more varied than in most hotels of this size: Amphora serves Mediterranean dishes all day with a terrace onto the plaza, Mayrig cooks Armenian food, and Miss Li Lee’s is a Pan-Asian restaurant and cocktail bar on the roof.

After a round, most guests head up to the heated rooftop infinity pool. Al Sagheer Spa offers treatments and a hammam, and the LA7 gym is there if you still want a workout. The Giza Pyramids are around 20 km away and the Grand Egyptian Museum about 20 to 25 minutes by car, so a morning of sightseeing fits easily between golf days.
