About the hotel

Vidago Palace Hotel opened in 1910 in the spa town of Vidago, in the Chaves municipality of northern Portugal. It reopened in 2010 after a restoration overseen by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira and stands in a large wooded park with natural mineral springs. Porto Airport (OPO) is about 1 hour 30 minutes away by car, and the Spanish border about 30 minutes.

Our packages include bed and breakfast in a Classic Double Room plus green fees. The 3-night package includes two rounds on the Vidago Palace Golf Course, which starts a short walk from the hotel. The 5-night and 7-night packages add rounds at Ponte de Lima, Estela, Amarante or Oporto Golf Club; Amarante is about 1 hour away by car and the coastal courses between 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes. Unlimited golf packages at Vidago are available for 3, 4 or 5 nights. Airport transfers are not included but can be arranged on request.

The hotel has 70 rooms and suites. Classic rooms measure 21 to 31 m². Breakfast is served in the Winter Garden, The Ballroom is the main restaurant, and there is also a wine cellar bar and the golf clubhouse. The thermal spa has indoor and outdoor pools, a Turkish bath, sauna and gym; spa access may carry a separate charge.

Frequently asked questions

Are airport transfers included?

No. Our packages include bed and breakfast and green fees only. Airport transfers can be arranged on request. The drive from Porto Airport takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Which room is included?

Packages are priced in a Classic Double Room on a bed and breakfast basis. Other room categories may be available on request at a supplement.

Where do I play?

The 3-night package includes two rounds at Vidago Palace Golf Course. The 5-night and 7-night packages combine Vidago with a choice of Ponte de Lima, Estela, Amarante or Oporto Golf Club. Unlimited golf at Vidago is offered for 3, 4 or 5 nights.

How far are the other courses from the hotel?

Amarante is about 1 hour by car. Estela, Ponte de Lima and Oporto Golf Club are between about 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes away.
