Palmeraie Golf Club lies in the palm groves north of the city, and it has the most typical Marrakech setting of all: thousands of date palms, a series of lakes and the snow-capped Atlas on the horizon on a clear winter day. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the championship course, which opened in 1992, and it hosted the Ladies European Tour’s Marrakech Palmeraie Open at the end of the 1990s.
The course is a good choice for a relaxed week, because Hotel du Golf, Palmeraie Golf Palace and Palmeraie Golf Suites are right beside it and their packages include your rounds here, with no transfers to arrange. Water comes into play on a number of holes, and the palms punish wayward drives more than the fairway widths suggest. When you want a change, the other Marrakech courses can be added for a supplement.
