Which golf course in Cairo should I play?
With five rounds in a week you can play all four clubs and repeat your favourite. In short:
- The Allegria: Greg Norman’s parkland-style course with lakes and streams, run by Troon Golf. The most polished conditioning in Cairo.
- NEWGIZA: the most dramatic, cut into a former limestone quarry, with the Pyramids behind the green on the par-3 4th.
- Dreamland: the classic, host of the Egyptian Open, with narrow fairways that reward straight hitting and two hotels beside the course.
- Palm Hills: 27 Nicklaus Design holes with generous fairways, a good choice for mixed-ability groups.

Which Cairo golf hotel is right for you?
Walk to the first tee: Swiss Inn Pyramids Golf Resort and Hilton Pyramids Golf are both next to Dreamland, and their packages include half board.
Close to the Grand Egyptian Museum: Hyatt Regency Cairo West is a few minutes from NEWGIZA and about ten minutes from the museum.
Restaurants and city life: Crowne Plaza West Cairo Arkan opens onto Arkan Plaza in Sheikh Zayed, close to The Allegria.
Top-end luxury: Giza Palace, a Leading Hotels of the World member with a 1,900 m² spa and large rooms.
Beyond the golf
Can I see the Pyramids on a golf holiday?
Easily. All our hotels are within about half an hour of the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, so a morning of sightseeing fits between golf days. We can add a private guided day with an Egyptologist, entrance fees, a private air-conditioned minivan and lunch, or a half-day visit to the museum or the Pyramids. Guides are available in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
Visas: most European visitors need a tourist visa for Egypt. We can arrange a pre-arrival visa with assistance through passport control on arrival in Cairo; ask us when you book.

When is the best time to play golf in Cairo?
October to April. Days are dry, sunny and warm, and winter afternoons are comfortable for golf when northern Europe is cold and wet. Mornings in December and January can be cool, so pack a layer. Our package prices apply to arrivals from October to the end of April; the Christmas, New Year and Easter weeks are available on request.
