Quinta da Marinha was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1984. It lies on the western edge of Cascais, between the town and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. The course has 18 undulating greens and water hazards, and the Atlantic comes into view on several holes.
It is par 71 and 5,870 metres from the back tees, so it suits a wide range of handicaps. The best-known hole is the 13th, a 339-metre par 4 that runs downhill towards the sea. The club has a driving range, putting green, practice bunker, pro shop and the Marinha Golf restaurant, and there is also a 9-hole academy course.
