The Alto Club, formerly Almenara, is the course in the grounds of SO/ Sotogrande. Dave Thomas designed it and Manuel Piñero later remodelled it. The 18 holes are par 71 and about 5,900 metres from the back tees, laid out through pine woods with several lakes and some testing changes in elevation. It sits next to Los Alcornocales Natural Park, so the setting is quiet and green.
The practice facilities are among the best in the area. The Alto Club Academy is led by former Solheim Cup captain Suzann Pettersen, the driving range has natural and covered bays with TopTracer, and there is a 9-hole par-3 course for short-game work.
In our packages tee times at The Alto Club start from 11:00, and you get two hours a day on the driving range. As it is next to the hotel, there is no driving on Alto days.

Is The Alto Club at the hotel?
Yes. The course is in the grounds of SO/ Sotogrande, so you can walk from your room to the practice area.
What time can we tee off?
In our packages tee times at The Alto Club are from 11:00. We book them for you before you travel.
Can I use the driving range?
Yes. Our packages include two hours a day on The Alto Club range. It must be pre-booked; range balls are included in most packages.
