Espiche Golf lies inland from Luz, a few minutes west of Lagos, in an ecological reserve where the land was left as undisturbed as possible. South African architect Peter Sauerman designed the course, which opened in 2012. It is a par 72 of 5,862 metres from the white tees, on gently rolling ground with several lakes, streams and native plants. There are views north to the Monchique hills.
The course was built with sustainability in mind and uses a grass that changes colour with the seasons while staying playable. It is a moderate challenge, suited to most handicaps, and about 10 minutes by car from the centre of Lagos. The modern clubhouse has a bar and restaurant overlooking the course, a pro shop and a putting green.

How difficult is Espiche?
It is a moderate test of 5,862 metres from the whites, with water on several holes, and suits most handicaps.
Do I need a handicap certificate?
Please bring your handicap certificate, as clubs in Portugal may ask to see it.

Are airport transfers included?
No. Airport transfers are not included in our packages, but we can arrange them on request. Faro Airport (FAO), about 1 hour by car.
