Amarante Golf Club was designed by the Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva and opened in 1997. It is set on the Quinta da Deveza estate at Louredo, near the town of Amarante in the Lower Tâmega area, at an altitude of around 600 metres, with the Marão, Aboboreira and Alvão mountains around it.
The 18-hole course is par 68 and measures 5,030 metres from the white tees. It is short on the card but the ground is undulating and steep in places, with elevated, quick greens and some water hazards, so judging distance and hitting accurate approaches matter more than length. The climbs between holes are considerable, and a buggy is worth considering. The clubhouse has a bar and the Quinta da Deveza restaurant, and the practice facilities include a driving range with covered bays. Amarante itself, on the River Tâmega, is a short drive away.

Where can I stay?
Amarante is included in our packages at Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel, Turim Oporto Hotel and NH Collection Porto Batalha, and can be added to the 5-night and 7-night packages at Vidago Palace Hotel, about 1 hour away.
How far is it from Porto Airport?
About 50 minutes by car. From central Porto it is about 45 to 50 minutes.
Do I need a buggy?
The course is hilly with steep sections between holes, so many visitors take a buggy. Buggies can be hired at the club.
