A parkland-style layout on the desert plateau, built around lakes, streams, sculpted bunkering and subtle elevation changes. Water brings risk and reward into play on several holes, including the par-3 7th and the par-5 15th.
The Allegria is one of Egypt’s most polished golf clubs. It lies within SODIC’s Westown community in Sheikh Zayed, on the desert plateau west of Cairo. Greg Norman opened the 18-hole, par-72 course in 2010, and it plays much more like parkland than desert golf: fairways are framed by lakes, streams, mature planting and bold bunkering, and gentle elevation changes keep the round interesting. From the back tees it measures 7,217 yards, while four sets of tees make it fair for higher handicaps.
Troon Golf runs the club, and it shows in the conditioning, the service and the smooth running of the day. The Allegria Academy offers PGA-qualified coaching, and the club has a good pro shop and a relaxed clubhouse. The course has hosted Pro Golf Tour and Alps Tour events, and Sphinx International Airport is about ten minutes away.

Yes. Visitors are asked to show a valid handicap certificate, so please bring it with you.
Yes. Our Cairo packages include a buggy at every course, which is useful at The Allegria because some walks between greens and tees are long.
Crowne Plaza West Cairo Arkan and Giza Palace are both in Sheikh Zayed, a short drive along the 26th of July Corridor. Golf transfers are included in our packages from every hotel.
