Castro Marim Golfe is close to the Spanish border, in the hills above the Guadiana river. The 18-hole course was designed by Terry Murray and opened in 2001. It follows the natural slopes of the land, with ornamental lakes on several holes and views across the river, the Castro Marim nature reserve and the Atlantic.
It is par 71 and 5,265 metres from the back tees, so it plays short, but the hills and the wind keep it a fair test. Fairways are Bermuda grass and greens are Penn A4. The club has a driving range, putting green, chipping area, restaurant and shop, with buggies and trolleys for hire. It is included in our 7-night Vila Galé Tavira package.

Is the course hilly?
Yes, it follows the natural hills, so many golfers take a buggy.
How far is it from Faro Airport?
About 45 minutes by car. Airport transfers are not included in our packages but can be arranged on request.
Can I combine it with Quinta do Vale?
Yes. The two courses are a few minutes apart and both are in our longest Vila Galé Tavira package.
